The aim of this apprenticeship is to contribute to meeting the skills and shortages in the sector and to promote the sector as a career of choice to the wider community.

Employers are looking for applicants who have a keen interest in providing high levels of
customer service and can be flexible with their skills.
Training providers and employers will use initial assessment to ensure that applicants have a
fair opportunity to demonstrate their ability and to tailor programmes to meet individual
needs. This process will identify prior qualifications and experience which may count towards
achievement of the framework. Where this is the case, apprentices will be encouraged to
undertake new learning at a higher level and develop new skills.
